PEACH & BLACK PODCAST: Xmas News Special + One Song!

Seasons Greetings to all Peach & Black Podcast listeners and all the very best for Xmas and the New Year!

In what will be our last episode for the year, we bring you our 'Another Lonely Christmas with the P&B Podcast' show.

In this show we cover all the recent Princely happenings such as:

* Welcome 2 Canada
* Extraloveable release
* Andy Allow tracks
* Dance 4 Me remixs
* The recent BBC documentary
* The Time (oops, The Original 7ven) and FDeluxe 2011 releases
* And lots more!

And also as a special treat, at the end of this show we've added the first episode of our spin-off show, 'One Song'. The idea behind 'One Song' is for us to bring to the table songs that we love, talk about what they mean to us and why we love them, and ideally open our listeners to new sounds and new musical adventures.

Thank you for your continued support, stay safe and we will be back in 2012 with more Peach & Black goodness!

A shout out from the Peach and Blackers? touched

Maybe this is common knowledge but I had to google "titty pants" and here is what popped up:

http://www.urbandictionar...ty%20pants

1. titty pants 8 up, 2 down
when your titties sag so low they touch and/or need to be tucked into your pants.
it's pretty windy out, good thing she's got her titty pants on... don't want that shit blowing away.

2. Titty Pants 4 up, 1 down
The name for someone who hikes their pants up so high that the waistband rests just below or at their titties
Jesus Christ, man....pull your pants down a little! You've got a bad case of titty pants goin' on their!

I was not aware of that. Now I am not sure what to think of the poster tittypants. hmmm confuse

lol There is an origin to why I chose that name actually. An old man & I had a conversation about the way kids pants sag which led to him telling me that their pants sagging are similar to how his wife's titty's sag...so he said out of nowhere...."Tittypants". I cracked up laughing @ it, & decided to use that name for something someday. So when I started my account, I thought....hmmm

In regards to what some of you were discussing about the remixes of Dance 4 Me hitting the clubs and introducing Prince to a younger audience, as much as I would love that to happen I know it never will. I really don't think that these remixes would impress any younger people to become new fans because, forgetting the actual song 'Dance 4 Me' completely, the remixes themselves aren't that good. It pains me to say that because as a younger fan I would absolutely go crazy if more people around my age would get into Prince music. It's kind of like what MC was saying, apart from us the fan community as a collective unit, no one else is talking about or mentioning these new releases at all. I'm jumping around a lot in this post but also with what you guys were saying about the BBC documentary ignoring most of the 90s-00s material, it got me thinking, it's really astonishing that an artist as amazing, talented and as massive as Prince is now almost a (maybe not quite) cult artist. I know that as artists get older they generally become less relevant to the mainstream, but it's just interesting how someone as big as Prince can just seemingly fall off the radar.

As for Extraloveable, he should take that instrumental section at the end of the 2011 version and make a whole new song out of that.

One minor niggle with the One Song segment. Captain, you never said what the name of the John Farnham song was! Using the clues you provided it was fairly easy to do a little research and figure out that it was "When the Was Is Over" that you were referring to but next time make it easy on us and tell us in the show. I'm sure that yo you "Farnsey" is omnipresent but for me he is completely obscure.

Of the four songs the only one that I was familiar with was "Master Blaster (Jammin')." I'll be giving the other three a few listens later today. I quite liked this new segment and hopefully you guys will be doing another one fairly soon.

Oh, so that's why I didn't know what the song was. I just thought it was because I wasn't paying attention enough lol

I'm not sure that cult artist is correct. He can still draw large crowds playing the hits. It might be more accurate to call him a nostalgia act. He's kind of similar to the Rolling Stones (though on a smaller scale). Neither of them has had a hit in many years but on the strength of their back catalog they can still draw large crowds to their live shows. I'm not sure how many copies A Bigger Bang sold but I would guess that Prince's recent albums sold a similar amount. As far as new recordings go maybe he could be considered a cult artist but even then his albums do tend to chart quite high (although they also fall off the charts fairly quickly).

When John Farnham is involved the less attention you pay the better off you will be.

Zap! Take that, Captain!

LOL sorry about not mentioning the song

I was going to post them here anyway - unless someone kicks my ass for posting youtube clips ??

(Just checked the rules and it says "Please do not post any Prince/Assoc. Artists videos from sites such as YouTube" none of these are associated so it should be cool)

Sting: I hung my head. Li...10 (6/15)

The Roots : Silent Treatment

John Farnham : When The War Is Over

Stevie Wonder : Master Bl... (Jammin')
