The story makes Prince appear to be a demanding, self-righteous, hypocritical, control freak to me.
IMO there's nothing about this story that makes Prince come off as demanding, self-righteous or control-freakish. It's not unreasonable to expect guests of Prince - especially on his property - to be respectful by not saying/doing anything that would upset the host. It's no different than a non-smoker not allowing anyone to smoke when they are in his house.
Hypocritical? When has Prince dropped the F-bomb since converting to JW? It doesn't say which cuss word 2uestlove let slip, I would not assume it was a minor one.
I agree you should respect someone's wishes but a cuss jar and having someone pay $20 is taking it too far. I think he started it as a jokingly way to keep people from cussing around him. It was like No Cussing sign.
I haven't heard Prince drop the "F-bomb". It's his choice not to drop it as everyone else should have the choice to use cuss words or not but I understand it's his way of controlling his environment. It's the intention that produces the energy behind a word that really matters. I'd respect his wishes so I wouldn't have to put any money in his cuss jar. ...bing ain't lie. |
