We are all familiar with Prince's version of Electric Man that he added to the live performances of Head and The Question of U. Needless to say, I was shocked to find out that the song was not actually a Prince original. It was released on Muddy Water's 1974 album "Unk" in Funk. The song is credited to Muddy's granddaughter, Amelia Cooper, and Terry Abrahamson. For anyone else that has heard the original, what do you think of Muddy's version?

Interesting. This is info that somehow snuck by a lot of people. I'm actually embarrassed as a blues fan that I don't have more knowledge of Muddy's catalog.

Not that big of a surprise - P is all over the map on covering and using/borrowing/stealing whatever sound it is he feels is appropriate for his live and recorded music.

However, I really think its cool he paid tribute to Muddy on what is in the end an awesome song by a legend and as SquirrelGrease stated I too am embarrassed I am so unfamiliar with his catalog of music.
