Just looking on amazon and noticed they have them ranging from £17-£30...listening to just how quiet SOTT is as well today, I'd take anything at the moment..granted the foefur versions are out there which I do have somewhere but I'd be after the original configurations plus I'm a whore for packaging so my 3 key interests are:

Price
Sound
And packaging

I have two, the Prince album and Purple Rain. To be honest I could not really tell much of a differnce between the shm's and the original cd's, and I have a pretty good hi-fi.

Bear in mind that these are not in any way remasters, it is only the coating that is used on the discs that is different (super high material) or something.

These discs only claim to sound better.

I have read a lot from people whom swear by them, and others who say they are a rip off.

They look nice, but don't sound spectacular (as some claim). That's my opinion, and it's the lack of improved sound that stopped me from buying the others.

Bear in mind also, any recordings done pre-CD/90s generally have the disclaimer that they 'highlight the limitations of the source material' ergo the quality of the CD is probably excellent but it's only as good as the source. In order to signifcantly improve the sound, the actual source tape would need a remaster...so i doubt SHMs for albums pre-90s add anything to the quality...
