Gosh! He really has so many! I want to immediately go with 'Power Fantastic' That song has literally broken me down in tears, and afterwards I found myself really uplifted! But he has other songs like this too. Such as:
Into The Light/I Will
These two tracks which are essentially one, just also makes me so uplifted. The way he plays the guitar and the vocals of Rosie Gains and Prince...It really uplifts me.
The Holy River
HOW UNDERRATED IS THIS GEM? I mean seriously? The lyric: "Eye can still see the picture upon the wall, of 1 eye staring at nothing at all, the other one trying 2 focus through all your tears" It just really uplifts me and highly transcendent for me.
A Case Of U
This cover really just speaks to me, everything about it is perfect! As well as Have A Heart/ Objects In The Mirror These tracks are really uplifting to me, and always does it for me.
How can we forget about GLAM SLAM AND Eye Wish U Heaven! I just love them!
Beautiful Strange!
AHH SO MANY..I just can't give one. BUT If I had to..It would have to be 'Into The Light/I Will' because these songs have really uplifted me in this part of my life now, and of course Power Fantastic. But so many really transcend.
agreed w/ all the above

How did I forget this one? Yeah I know it gets some hate, but this was one of Prince's best songs from the 90s, in my opinion. Lyrically and musically, it was a transcendent masterpiece. [Edited 12/9/11 10:07am] Check me out and add me on:

Adore. Describes everything Princey in one amazing song. The falsetto, the cursing, the love, the joy, the religious, all that's missing is a reference to Purple |

YES! "Adore" is heaven. The ending just knocks me out all of the time. I'd like to put "Still Would Stand All Time" in the list for Prince's most transcendent songs. Check me out and add me on:

The ending of "Adore" is why I refuse to hear anyone say "this song is overrated". Fuck that. The ending with Prince basically sermonizing at the end is genius. |

The way that ending is multi-layered is genius, with the sermonizing, background vocals, jazzy trumpet. EPIC! "Adore" is definitely not overrated, it's just what a great song should be. Check me out and add me on:

This is why I despise The Hits/The B-Sides. I'm fine with editing songs but you just don't go fucking with a masterpiece |

I'm listening to Glam Slam now. This song has the ability to make me laugh or cry...depending on the circumstances.
As for 'transcendent' ... Lawd,
"this thing we've got is alive, it seems 2 transcend the physical"
peace, blessings, love & b wild

I have seen him perform Purple Rain live a few times and been lifted to a higher place. I can recall one time at Jones Beach . . . |
