The Linn sound can be heard on Let's Go Crazy. The beat goes (approximately) boom, pa, boom, pa, boom, pa, boo-paddata. The paddata part is the specific sound I associate with the Linn. That and the way the snare sounds.

Like on Raspberry Beret, the boom-beh-behr-boom, pa, boom, pa, boom, pa.
