The Cars is one of my favorite bands, and I just had Candy-O (and "Let's Go") on repeat a lot over the past months - so I was pleasantly surprised to read here that he covered it. They have a new album out and played this year at First Ave. in Minneapolis. I love that they're giving interviews because I love to learn what veteran musicians have to say about the industry and the state of music.

I wish I could hear Prince's version, but I know we're not allowed to hint or beg that we want to hear anything he's played, so I won't.

Yeah, not remotely interested if there's any way to see or hear this.

I have to say, this is better than The Cars themselves doing this in May 2011 this year - it has some more energy, I think maybe because Prince is in better shape physically.

Nice to hear people singing along, enjoying it. Guitar is signature Prince. Changed lyric to "just 18" instead of "17" - what's w/ his obsession about being legal, especially if the age difference is 30 yrs anyway. Nice to know he respects other artists of the heyday. I bet he checked out their gigs in the late 70s/early 80s. Having grown up w/ band battles, he was probably really curious what bands were doing in L.A., NY, London, places like that.

The dude that just loses it when he realizes what Prince is playing is so freaking cool. Every time I hear him say "OH MY GOD!" I get such a rush. That's what music is supposed to do for you!

well no i dont think that is me but during Let's Go I can hear a girl say "Oh My God thatr's Prince, that's Prince, that is Prince!" and I can swear up and down Boadway that is my friend Liana and the guy constantly woohoo-ing and laughing really loud was the guy right next to me and I think he had a recording device on him.
