If he took that approach then songs like "I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man" or "Tick Tick Bang" would've never got released. Sometimes he looks in there and pulls out something that goes over big or sometimes falls flat. It's a 50/50 chance but well worth it because it gives the songs the chance to see the light of day.

Yah. He should of put original lyrics with this new track.... and I agree the rap is cheesy. Who knows maybe he will wise up and start releasing more gems from the vault? Maybe the Joy in Repetion remix, Rebirth of Flesh and Mad are coming next. We can only hope.

I've always believed that for every bootleg track I've heard that there's probably 2 that I haven't and probably never will at this point. It's pretty hard to determine exactly where/when he gets most of his material from at this point because they security is so much tighter. Back in the 80's the bootlegs were literally dropping every week like new singles. We've only gotten one recently, For Lust.

Ok sourpuss. But this thread was about opinion. You have yours and that's cool too. But the same ability for people to see the humor in things, in someone's post, or can read between the lines, or are able to detect sarcasm and such, that same type of innate ability to catch certain details also applies to music.

Not everyone "get's" everything, for those that can't or are less discerning, there's prefab pop like this this version of this track.

Nay with Ms. Allo's input but let's get real, it could not work or be released with its original content of the rape fantasy, something had to go. There are 7 billion people on the earth and the percentage of those who even know of the original is not mathmatecially possible to compute so why waste time bickering over this update?

I get people's concern that this will be all we get, not the original... we have No, but not The Ball officially released. And it isn't that I am not as discerning compared to Ugo2shakesomthin, just have other priorities in life besides whether Prince is going to release his Vault material as originally recorded. I do wish things were different, but not going to lose it and start unloading on others because things aren't as I would have them be. Ultimately it isn't our decision, and won't affect our lives if a song is released or not, let's get some perspective here. It's just a song, not the second coming.

I'll give it a borderline Yay. Technically fine (aren't all P tracks that?), maybe sorta forgettable. But at the very least, I wasn't bored nor did it insult me.

(Maybe the Yay vote is more for that he's actually releasing music digitally again. Who woulda thunk it?)
