Can anyone tell me which concert it was that Prince was shouting at one of the girls (I think Nikki Costa) 4 singing "Still Will Stand All Time" during "Still Would Stand All Time"? Thank U.

The person being corrected by Prince was Taylor Dane not Nikka Costa, and it was the Hamburg Aftershow on August 30, 1988. You can find the video by doing a Google.

That was Small Club and Boni as someone already said...if he did it again, that kinda takes away some of the awesomeness of that moment.

Doesn't she keep singing "will" for a time or two after that? I have to listen again to be sure.

Regardless, that whole "will" thing kind of ruins the song for me now. It's all I can hear.

Exactly. I find myself concentrating more on the mistake than on the song, thinking about how annoyed he was probably getting at that point and how he's pretty much going to have to "break the fourth wall" here and correct her.

this is a classic moment in "Prince history".

Thanks everyone but it's kinda weird cos I remember seeing what looked like pro filmed video footage of it with Prince at the piano (That's why I was asking. I wanted 2 see if I could get the full gig.) I wasn't aware there was any released footage of the Paard Van Troje gig though. I take it that clip is the only footage available then?

i've just watched the clip. it's the hamburg show with taylor dayne. although in the beginning taylor sings "will" instead of would, i didn't hear prince calling her for it. think people are all in a higglety-pigglety over these 2 shows.

(The Große Freiheit '36 aftershow in Hamburg (1988 08 31 am), on which Taylor Dane guested on 'Still Would Stand All Time', was also captured on video with Prince at the piano - a much longer version. As stated above, he doesn't correct Dane when she sings it incorrectly at first)

Ah, mystery solved. I doubt Prince would have called out an established artist like Taylor Dane who is not part of his band the way he did Boni a few nights earlier.

I like it how he keeps "subtly" correcting her several times after she sings "still will stand all time": "Still WOULD stand all time. Yes it WOULD!" Then all of a sudden he loses his cool: "Who's the fool singing will?! It's WOULD!" Classic.

I've heard Prince say "WILL" in the exact same track. Listen for that.
