Um, maybe because good music doesn't need to be forced into our brains, and some of the associated artists' recent projects was loved naturally! No one's on the assoc. artists' jock without the music, if that's what you're trying to infer. But, the music came out, and the majority liked it (without having to hypnotize ourselves to it by playing it over 20 times in a row, hoping eventually we'll come to dig it). I'll admit I'm not a fan of Gaslight, but Condesnate blows this turd right out of the water.
This release is truly not even a blip on my radar (why would I care? I won't ever be hearing that shit again!), but I know there are some people here that just say they like it cuz they're always chokin' on Prince's splooge. And for those people, I'm having so much fun!

Co-Sign the bitching on this board is out of control. I also do not see what the big deal is about P rerecording this song. Trust a large portion of his fanbase never heard the orignal so what is the big deal. It still sounds better then the drivel on the radio today and the rape part of the original was going to have to be removed anyway.

I keep hearing about how this track is so much better than what's on the radio. What radio station are some of you people listening to anyway?

WUNF *we understand no funk*
i'd rather listen to radiostation WEFUNK man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

If there are ANY new/current songs getting airplay that are even ok, much less good, I haven't heard them...

It just hit me... It's pretty funky.. *since I got banned* I come to realize, how can I criticize what someone does with their own song, so I'll take it as it is. yessir minus the comparison, all I will say is ok

perfect + unclear recording = imperfect + clear recording
Seems pretty even to me. And one more thing you are not technically supposed to have either.

Better known as WE FUNK or deeper still...

Wish there would be a music video for this song. I dig it.

Watch out, because that station is habit forming. The Census Bureau estimates that there are 2,518 American Indians and Alaska Natives currently living in the city of Long Beach.

and u know it bro ..it's all about the P man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

wtf does that mean how can you speak for what people naturally like? You totally missed the point. people's taste are nothing more than opinions not fact. people should be free to state their distaste of the associated artists music just as much as you are free to state how much you hate Prince's music. to think otherwise is pure hypocrisy coming from straight up haters. People trash Prince's music to highlight the associated artist music so why can't people do the same for Prince if that is how they feel?

I can speak on it based on what they themselves say because they do NOT say how they had to listen to the associated artists' music 1,000 times in order to force themselves to like it. They liked it practically instantly.

OK...so I finally got to listen to the whole thing....
Geez some of youz are such fukin drama queens bout all this...like someone cut off your left nut
Its a remake by Prince - same as it was and always will be when it comes to him "updating" his sound. He's more than capable but rarely comes off incredibly inspiring. This is nothing new. How long you fools really been around?
For me its all about...YES! Extraloveable LIVES! Regardless of its anything close to the original 1982 version - this is 2011 - twenty-fukin-9 years later...and its still funky
His voice sounds dope and I dig the slowed down tempo and it will rock LIVE with his new band and reflects his current space with music. The Allo rap is Eve all the way and brings me back to Rave in 1999 - so why are we shocked by this remake again???? We've seen this before and its all good.
Finally, this version is a total make for modern radio as a laymen of Prince's music its got all the elements of his brand of funk. He definietly coped Love from 3121 which is cool cause its a dope track in its own right.
Compared it to his latest "original" attempt with Black Sweat...this ones actually got legs....
In the end as long as I got new music (new or remakes) from Prince Rogers Nelson - I'm all good.
kick bustin.... Live4Love

Who here said they have to listen to Prince's music 1000 times before they like it? can you tell me where/who say that? is it a few people or the majority? [Edited 11/25/11 21:23pm]

17 pages of commentary and not one single posting of the lyrics, which we all know have been changed, is VERY telling.
Just saying!
I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

Love the: Spoken intro Crisp sounding bongos + live drumming Slowed down tempo Prince's voice Andy's voice Andy's rap - so Eve! Cute lyrics. the new changed lyrics are cool to me
Favorite part:
Oh! You're supernova!
Also dig the water sound effects at the end and the girl laughing, creates a Lovesexy atmosphere for about 5 seconds
Good song. Glad he re-recorded it, glad he made every choice he made with this one. Nicely done man.

Do you really think I have that shit memorized? Just look up the threads around the time when Lotusflower and 20Ten were released. Posts by several folks who had to listen to the shit on repeat to like it.

Yeah. Brilliantly awful, at least the changes he made and girlie girl's little unnecessary rap, anyway.

It's as good as anything on Condensate and Gaslight.
I's cool | |
