"7" the other versions As I would like to purchase the single, wanted to know what the folks on the org think about the different versions on this UK limited edition:
1. "7" (4:23) 2. "7" (ACOUSTIC VERSION 3:54) 3. "7" (AFTER 6 EDIT 4:20) 4. "7" (AFTER 6 LONG VERSION 5:15)

I personally love and prefer the Acoustic Version to the LP one. This shouldn't be too expensive to pick up so don't pay more than you need to for it!
As for the other mixes.....don't really work in my opinion. -----------------------------------------------

Nothing can ever top the LP version. Amazing!
The others are nice but never really did much for me The greatest live performer of our times was is and always will be Prince.

I like all those versions, there is also the "mix 5" and "mix 5 long version" available. I don't care for the mix 5 version much. Making love and music are the only things worth fighting for. |

Acoustic Mix is my favorite, it actually got a bunch of airplay here in Detroit back in the day. If I recall, "after 6" uses the beat from "2 whom it may concern". I haven't heard "Mix 5" in years, from some promo cd. Keep your headphones on. | |

acoustic is good. got probably equal amount of airplay to the album version from the stations that didn't want to hang in there for 5 minutes.
never really cared for the After 6 or Mix 5 ones. | |

I agree. I really wanted to like the versions but they just are not very good. The original is just such a breath of fresh air that the others just come off as stiff afterthoughts. | |

to me "7" is just brilliant, I just love the song so much
and I agree the album version is the best this is pure dope... although the acoustic version is good also.
Maybe "7" is Prince's best single of the 1990's?

I like both the lp and acoustic versions. I found a dj made mashup of those two that is really good. |
