I can't say enough good things about this song. Sort of sad it got socked away on Jill Jones' doomed album. Still wish this song had been in "Roadhouse Garden" in 85' instead of ATWIAD.

On the one hand I can understand why Prince was trying to avoid becoming Mr. Purple Rain. But on the other hand I don't think there's anything wrong with writing Pop music that is also good music. The follow up to Purple Rain (which should have been released in 86') should have looked something like this:

Our Destiny

Roadhouse Garden

Raspberry Beret

Possessed

Wonderful Ass

Kiss

All Day, All Night

America

All day, all night is a great song I think, but I really don't get all the love for Road House Garden and Our Destiny. Those are much less catchy and kinda weird songs. I agree with P not releasing an album like that.

The live version that Prince & Elisa did in Paris at the Grand Palais was sheer heaven! Better than any recorded version I've ever heard. I wish he would record and release that.

Change it one more time..
