The 1985 "The Ladder"Press Statement-Now Aren't You Glad He's A Liar? Remember back in 1985 after the PR tour, LIL MAN shocked the music world when he gave a press statement that he was "retiring" from touring and "was going to look for the ladder"? I remember REALLY believing it..back then{But as I grew older with him, his quirky ways and his music, I LEARNED BETTER}.
Just think ORGERS and ESPECIALLY OLD Prince fans, imagine {like John Lennon says} a world with no Prince live shows...no legendary after shows...NOTHING, but Prince albums and videos. That means no SOTT Tour...No Lovesexy Tour...none of that. Normally when someone tell you lies, it's a bad thing. But in this case, being lied to was definitely a GOOD thing. Beautiful strange. Well, if he would have stopped then and there. At least I could have said I witnessed him live during the Purple Rain Tour.

when asked why, didn't he respond, "Because sometimes it snows in April." ???
I remember believing it at the time too. I think he means it when he says this stuff. He just has a bigass case of ADD and changes his mind quickly, and frequently. . http://elmadartista.tumblr.com/ http://twitter.com/madartista

Yes! I remember this. In fact alot of people were saying it was true because of the way Temptation ends:
"I'm sorry. I'll be good. This time I promise, Love is more important than sex. Now I understand. I have 2 go now. I don't know when I'll return. Good-bye..." I LOVE how this song ends! 'nuff said. "So strange that no one stayed at the end of the Parade..." - Wendy & Lisa's "Song About" on their 1987 self-titled album.

Yeah, I remember this, I never took him seriously though.
BUT, all the other prince fans I knew at that time were like freaking out, I kept saying "he'll be back". ~KiKi
