Did Prince Shoot a Video for "The Hookers?" Hopefully someone can confirm this (though it sounds crazy): Did Prince shoot a video for his pre-Vanity 6 group The Hookers? I think the song was called "Need A Man" or something like that... Maybe this came from "DMSR" or "The Vault"; unfortunately I don't have either book.

The Hookers never even recorded any material, I don't think. Let alone shoot a video. |

Turns out it was mentioned in "DMSR" [p. 125]:
"Jamie [Shoop] and Susan's lack of singing experience or formal music training didn't bother Prince, who came up with a batch of songs during the summer and autumn of 1981. Two of the tracks made the album: "Drive Me Wild" and "Wet Dream". Another song, "I Need A Man" was turned into a homemade video by Prince.
So it looks like it was probably more of a goof than a true promo video; add it to the list of purple curiosities that will never see the light of day

I bet there are plenty more home made videos where that came from. Hopefully he moved more than Vince Neil did.
