Prince v MJ: Who's the G.O.A.T.?

Today 98.7 Kiss FM's (in NYC) Midday Cafe featured the music of Prince & Michael. Callers got the chance to vote for their favorite artist. (I missed it, though.) There's also a poll at http://www.987kissfm.com/ (See: "Check this out") where you can vote for the "Greatest of All Time." The last time I checked, his purple badness was leading.

Guess the question is a no-brainer on this website. biggrin I'm a little curious as to who the radio listeners chose as the greatest.

Plus Prince change in every album.something that not many do, especially to his extent.
Thats what makes all the years of prince so rememberable, is the change. it seems like 40 years have gone by because of that.
Michael, well...nevermind. He is still a genius though.

which revolution is that???

well, not for me. musically prince has explored much more ground than mike, but a decade-by-decade comparison of both their artistic achievements makes me re-think prince's so-called "obvious" victory.. even on a prince board.

Of course that's true.you can't be in this business 33 years and be consistantly successful and not change with the times, if anything Mike has proved longevity (successfully) more than Prince.

It's also apparent how many artists have followed the MJ blueprint, although it could just be Prince is a much harder act to replicate.

True, True. But Not really the style of music, thats what i mean, ok, maybe Bad was a little more thugish than thriller, i mean come on, u know what i mean. Think of all the prince albums.

Hey, don't get me wrong, I've been a MJ fan a lot longer than a prince fan, and when ever i hear MJ or see him, I stop what I'm doing. So unique.
