Prince & Janet 2gether! I just got this message 2day by one of my good frieds K...

Yeah, Prince is a loon, but I cringe less at his calling fans "fams" than Mariah calling her fans "her lambs". 
It's much easier to accept Prince's eccentricities, I think, because although he relies heavily on that weirdness to get people's attention, at the end of the day his musical gifts still sustain his merit as a respected and influential artist. Mariah Carey IS talented vocally, but a lot of her songs are bubblegum-flavored tripe and rather blah as far as the soul in them is concerned. She seems to be more concerned with seeing how many pairs of booty-shorts she can wear in one video, rather than crafting significant and groundbreaking work like Prince has. A beautiful voice and a beautiful body can only get you so much respect if you don't have the artistic merit and savvy to back it up with. Just my humble $0.02. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
