the lyrics of old friends 4 sale are pretty self explanatory, however i've always been intrigued by a particular line..."green and white will turn to blue". my take on it is as a drugs metaphor; green symbolising weed, white being cocaine, and blue, well we all get the blues. perhaps a dig at morris's well publicised habits? anybody else have any thoughts? sorry if its already been discussed but my pc won't let me access old posts.

ps i am of course talking about the original version as the one on the vault is cack and not worth discussing.

yeah that's pretty much what i was thinking. however green being a metaphor for money works much better than mine so thankyou and love to emu

I think green also stands generally for envy: e.g., "the color green will make your best friend leave you" from "Play in the Sunshine."

While we're on the subject of colors, does anyone know what he's talking about in the 1984 birthday show boot when he says "I'm glad you didn't give me one of them white ones?" It must have been clear if you were there, but with no video I have no idea what he's on about.

A handkerchief..because the white ones show the boogers better.

Saying the money and coke won't make you happy and it's only lasting as long as the high then you're on to something else.
