is this in fact the loooongest he's waited to release SOMETHING....those remix cds are not acceptable

what remix cd's?

When I read the news of the new tour, I started to fear he doesn't release anything because he won't make money off a new record, while he hopes to make it touring. So sad if that's the reason.

Prince said he wasn't recording on the Lopez Tonight episode and he seems to enjoy touring right now. I hope he sticks with it for a while and hits NYC again(preferably in warmer months).

Well, Drfunkenberry said this 2 weeks ago.

''Prince fans, aside from "dance 4 me" being re-released w/new mixes, he is recording now so new music will be here sooner than we think.''

So yeah, let's wait and see.

Seriously though, he can take all the time he needs. I want him to come back with a bloody bang.

I might be wrong, but I think the longest stretch was 1999-2002 (from Rave... to Rainbow Children). I'd be willing to wait one more year if he comes up with something half as good as Rainbow Children, for example another Lotus Flow3r.

I think Prince needed to be away to create a demand for his product. (For the general public)

I think he's kind of frustrated that he has to spend money on new music that might not break even. Touring's lucrative and prob. plays a part in money for the recording sessions.

It could be cash flow problems, he's touring to make sure the bank continues and that those royalty checks he gets for his songs being played on (now) classic R&B and rock radio (you know the selected ten ones they always play anyways) will help in how much he uses for studio time and also to market the albums he may have in the pipeline.

I don't mind waiting, when Prince takes his time it usually means we get something REALLY good.

There was no new studio album in 1983, the next year we got Purple Rain. There was no new studio album in 2005, the next year we got 3121 (an under-rated classic IMO).

I 100% agree with you, but I think your hopes (like mine) to see out the remasters will always be useless, Prince does not release his Remasters because he is not interested in his past...SAD but TRUE!

That isn't true. Look at all the infomration the past few years out there about him attempting to work with WB about this.

Advice 4 Prince:

I so agree with a lot of the comments here, I think we just have to wait! I really believe Prince, when it comes to time. I don't think he even realizes a lot other people know and believe its 2011. He is not restricted by time, he just does it when he does. That is what makes him PRINCE....That comes with a lot of cons and pros though! Haha

The general public hasnt had a real demand for Prince in quite a while.

Probably 3121 was the last demand. Not to forget Musicology. What I mean is to be gone for awhile so the general public is excited to see the product and/or Prince. Its the same reason we only get the Mcrib once a year. To create a demand. It's a sound business tactic.

I can wait because I know "It's just around the NEXT corner."

I'm too busy listening to other stuff to even care right now..maybe you should do the same.
