looking back over the 30 years that we have been following the man, I often wonder what other people dig about him. let's face it, it's not easy or possible to categorise his art.

so, do you prefer Prince's

- Rock

- Funk

- Jazz

- Balads

- Instrumental grooves

cause really, he does it all. so, if some1 does not really like rock music w/ loud guitar screaming, there's a chance that certain aspects of his live shows might not b what you're used 2

at the same, if guitar distortion is what u prefer, then u might not b 2 too in2 his balads, and love songs

All of the above, that's what makes him special, that's what make him unique,

that's why I love him, that's why his shows are so entertaining and jawdropping,

that's what makes him Prince!!!

Well I think I like his rock and funk side most. I really love the variaty in his work. He really done almost every thing. I love Prince his voice, I love him playing his guitar. But there is something in Prince that I haven't seen in any other artist yet, he unique musicial talent first of all, but there is something so fierce , power and sexy about him, his music, his image and just him. I can't explain. When he is on stage, he is really the best performer I have ever seen. His energy , passion are so amazing to watch. And the things he do with the instruments and his voice are even better.

He is just special, there is nothing more I can say. He makes me smile and his music is the soundtrack to my life. That's all I can say.

The music.

He's a passionate artist with so much originality. His music is diverse. He's creative and confident.

But most of all he's one hell of a sexy guitarist and he plays it well

When I first got into him in the early 90's, I was only interested in his rock songs and his ballads and then I had a little rest from him for most of the 00's.

Now having revisited, I am massively into the other types of music he produces, particularly the funk.

It's opened me up to probably over 70% of his catalogue that I had previously dismissed.

I feel that I am a bigger fan now than I was when I first obsessed over his music and that says something!

If I really had to pick, I love is funk songs and ballads the most.

I love the guitar solos, Shhh is one of my favourites right now. I haven't seen much recent piano performances though, I wish he did more!

And I love his face.

For me honestly, I suppose it has been growing up with him as a part of my life.

Listening to one album until the next one came along. Growing up from a girl into a young woman into a woman. Having a puppy love to a crush to a mature emotional feeling for everything that Prince recorded.

Prince has just been in my heart all along.

Out of everything I would say the ballads and funk songs are my favorite.

Oh and he's a hot piece of ass.

I love all of his music but I'd have to say Jazz, Ballads, and Funk!

What attracts me to him is his large amount of music that always changes and that signature falsetto!

And I perfer Prince as:

pianist

the spiritual musical guru

the dancer

I can't pick one because they all play a part in his image

I love the funk and rock the most. His voice, guitar playing, humor, charisma, songwriting ability... I love so many things about him, just what everyone said above. His artistry, sensitivity, passion and fearlessness to do what he wants to do. He's the ultimate live musician, those concerts are amazing. Plus, he's cute as anything. I feel like he's a musical version of that we seek after for his musical wisdom.

Sometimes it is when the immediate feeling can make you fall into a state of delirium for a moment.

i think that Around the World In A Day was a really audacious release & truly represents the Prince we know today

Purple Rain was still the hype...we and every1 was high as heaven off of it, and then - bang:

Prince bold telling us that "y'all can njoy Purple Rain, but it's only the beginning...a piece of the pie"

Since then, through different grooves, all still grappling w/ Prince's challenge or dialogue with the ethereal and the flesh,

here we are, many many releases later, and Prince has not slowed down
