Peach from the sacrifice of victor

Just saw this for the first time, my lord it is really some next level shit. someone told me the rest of the video isnt that good, is this true? also do you guys have any suggestions for similar performances?

Bogey and Bacall, peanut butter and jelly, Wall being on fucking point, is "classic" dipshit. An iphone is top shelf technology. Get it straight. This thing is 4g. -Wall the great

Hi!

I've had this one on VHS since it first came out and I really like it. The Staples were great at that show and it's probably my favourite version of The Ride too. Tony M was shite though. Always fast forwarded the game boyzzzzzzz.

You can find that version of the ride on t'internet which is definitely worth a look.

Worth seeking out.

i was at the show, it was packed way beyond capacity, sweat was literally dripping off the ceiling. not enough prince, far too much gameboyz n steeles. compared to his 88 aftershows i thought it was shit!

This aftershow is brilliant! Many highlights on this one. Indeed the best version of the ride. The steeles on fire. Hell, I even enjoyed Call the law with P blazing a ferocious solo. P was in a very playfull mood that night, so yes. Excellent show, luckily it was officially released!

Robertgeaorgeakabob is spot on! It was a sauna in there! Crushed like sardines! Waited ages 4 prince 2 come on. It was painfull!!! When he did come onstage it was obvous he wasnt in a good mood...I do remember he started with 'jailhouse rock!! & that he turned his back on the audience alot that night or hung back & let the others do their thing upfront. Mavis & the steeles were great, tony m horrendus 'rapping'

my memory is a bit vague but as ninab said it was late when he came on, maybe 3am. there was alot of tension in the place as people started rumours he wasn't showing up. i remember jailhouse rock, honky tonk women, poorgoo(?), the ride. the 1st half of the show was very laid back blues. don't remember much of what tony m and steeles played apart from call the law. he ended with peach. havent seen this show since days of vhs so i'm sure others can tell u playlist better smile

His performance of Peach at the Conga Room in 2009 was kick ass!

Pissed off or not! Someone always gotta ruin the mood. He wasnt crazy about the lady next to us taking his pic

Say it's just a dream...
U open up ur eyes and come 2 realize
u simply imagined this
So u lean over and give her a kiss
Here on earth, here on earth,
with u it's not so bad
Here on earth, here on earth
eye don't feel so sad
Stay right here

the show was after the last night of the act 2 tour, so peach to me is his kiss-off to prince before the name change shenaningans. i've never really classed the bagley's show as a real aftershow. it didn't feel impromptu like earlier shows. tickets were really easy to get, there was even a box office. much more organised than his nightclub appearances, bagley's was a disused shed behind kings cross station, i remember there being fire-eaters and folk juggling on stilts as i entered and signs everywhere stating the show was being filmed.

I'm amazed at the reviews of the people who were there. What I saw on video and hear from the entire show, I am blown away. How could the people there experience a crap show?

Also, this was post name change and he started with the Ride:

http://princevault.com/index.php/08_September,_1993-am

Checking that setlist, from Johnny to House in order to Come. I never imagined Prince listening to Jeveta Steele's amazing rendition of Calling you. Oh man, this was a great night and a very good show!

i said it was shit in comparison to the lovesexy aftershows, and in my opinion it was. i still enjoyed it though. same could be said of his music generally. i like the symbol album but its not a patch on lovesexy!

No, I know, but I can't remember Endorhpinmachine back then.

I do think he was at his best in some of the 90's aftershows, he seemed angry and tired and that always made for a great powerful show. I loved the aftershow at the hippodrome on the Jam of the Year tour when he ditched one of the engineers 10 minutes in. Plus, he did that all with baby blue hair clips in without looking odd. Genius ; )

I was there, and it was a great show... However (and this is why most people didn't like it), Prince gave over more than half of the set to highlight other artists. Prince himself only fronted the band for the first 5 songs and the closing 3. The rest of the show he spent in the background as a band member while Mavis Staples, The Steeles and the NPG took lead voal duties. The show was really split into a series of short sets highlighting each artist. Everyone was expecting a "Prince"/"prince" show, and what they got was an NPG Records Artists revue.

I would recommend that you seek the title The Sacrifice Of The Undertaker on the Ladybird label.

It contains The Undertaker video and The Sacrifice Of Victor on the one dvd. Both have been ripped from laserdisc so the picture quality is A+, despite having to turn the volume of your tv/pc up slightly, it really is a great release and is (imo) probably the best quality version of these videos in circulation.

It just goes 2 show memory can play tricks - 4 some reason I allways thought he started with jailhouse rock!!! My issue with that night was not the set list or mavis & the steeles performing (as I love mavis & apprieciate her & the steeles talent etc) my main prob was standing/waiting 4 hrs whilst being badly crushed/in pain in a sauna. I was shocked when I watched the vidoe later that you couldnt see how bad it was in there. The security was re-selling tickets outside I found out later, people were dropping in there & being carried out.

my favourite memory of the night is after prince played and most people went home, dancing to sign o the times on a deserted dancefloor with a much-needed pint in my hand.
