I recently scanned this article from 'The NME Rock 'N' Roll Years', it was dated June 1981 & if you read through it states that Prince's father was of Italian Filipino descent. I've never heard that from other sources before. Do you think there's any truth in this statement?

I think WB & Prince were promoting a multi-racial identity up until a certain point to break into the white audience. That's part of the reason why Purple Rain was written in the first place.

Prince's late father, John Nelson was black. As was his mother, Mattie Shaw.

Well, this girl was screaming it but when I got in her face about proving that he is, she changed her tune real QUICK.

I think there is a possibility he could have experimented once, but I really don't think he got anything out of it. I totally see him as straight.
