I know right? Hahaa , they all came in the mail 5 days in the row cause I ordered them on amazon. I got Purple Rain after seeing the movie then I heard "319" on Showgirls so I got The Gold experience, then started getting the 80s albums

Showgirls, eh? There's a joke just begging to be told but I am afraid that I am not clever enough to think of it.

Like many people, I jumped on the bandwagon in 1984 and bought the entire back catalog before the next album, Around The World In A Day was released.

The only reason 1999 came last is because my friend had promised to give it to me as a birthday or Christmas gift, but after getting all the others, I couldn't wait any longer and bought it myself. He was a little annoyed by that.

The rest I bought the week they were released excpet for 20Ten because it was never released in the states so I don't own that one.

Same here (but in Canada). Also, I never bought NewPowerSoul 'cause I played it in the record store I was working at and it didn't move me.

Okay, let's see....

1. My first memory of Prince albums in my home was Controversy, and I was 3-years-old at the time.

2. My Mom also purchased 1999.

3. At the age of 6, I purchased Purple Rain for my 13-yr-old sister's birthday, so technically this was my first purchase.

4. My sister purchased ATWIAD for herself and I just listened to it when I wanted.

5. Someone gave me Parade as a gift when it came out.

6. I finally purchased SOTT for myself with my allowance when it came out.
7. I was forced to skip Lovesexy since my parents thought the album cover was inappropriate, and Prince had totally lost his marbles. Thus, the next Prince album I purchased for myself was Batman.

8. Then Grafitti Bridge.

9. Then Diamonds and Pearls.

10. Then .

11. Now it gets fuzzy. Prince started confusing me after , so I think the next album I purchased was Emancipation.

12. Then Rave.

13. More confusion. Next album purchased was 3121.

14. Then 21 Nights/Indigo Nights.

15. Then the Lotus Flow3r package.

16. Then in early 2010, I went back and within about a month I updated my collection and purchased all other albums I was missing to date including the NPG Music Club stuff.

17. Then 20TEN.

Controversy, but I borrowed Dirty Mind from someone's older brother. Then there was Prince, then the rest that I bought were in sequence from there. Controversy, 1999, Purple Rain, Prince on wax, ATWIAD, Parade, SOTT on cassette.

1. Prince. I loved that album so much i had to buy it on 8 Track, Cassette and Record. Him being naked and riding a pegasus on the back cover was the craziest stuff i had ever seen !

2. Controversy. Cassette and Record

3. Dirty Mind. Cassette

4. 1999. Record

5. Purple Rain. Cassette.

6. ATWIAD. Cassette
