Lovesexy CD So, I'm wanting to convert all my cd's to MP3.
I put in the Lovesexy CD into my laptop and iTunes asked me to pick between 5 different album titles that all said "Prince - Lovesexy"
I couldn't tell which I wanted to I clicked on the bottom one on the list.
Now, my itunes says the CD has only 1 track "I Know" that is 45:03 long.
How the funk am I supposed to split this up into 9 tracks now?
Is there a way to clear my itunes history so that I can try picking one of the other "Prince - Lovesexy" choices to see if they are better?

been googling for a bit now and I guess this is something Prince did on purpose.
I've ripped the CD to one giant WAV file and I'm going to use Peak Pro to split it up when I get a chance.

In one of the books I read about Prince it said the Prince did this on purpose so that people couldn't just skip each track to the their favourites. They would have to listen to the entire album. WB weren't happy about it. I thought Prince wouldn't put his music on itunes? or is that just his more recent stuff which he has control over?

Wow you have an original 1 track CD!
If you still want to avoid listening to the album as Prince intended, then you cna get the import CD which is tracked.
Or just track the untracked CD audio in an audio editor. Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

out of curiousity, would you people be against pirating a CD if you already own a physical copy? Bogey and Bacall, peanut butter and jelly, Wall being on fucking point, is "classic" dipshit. An iphone is top shelf technology. Get it straight. This thing is 4g. -Wall the great

^Not out of principle, but I find it a bit pointless. Why would I want to own

Made a mistake! I wanted to say I don't need several copies of the same record. Except for a few collector's items.

You are not allowed to pirate anything at any times. That is the way they see it. Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

i bought a tracked version for under a fiver, as long as it's 'new' it will be a tracked version, i think they have been since the mid to late 90's.

Hee hee... I remember when this album first came out, and I bought it on cassette. There was a 'warning' label on the card that said "songs are in a continuous sequence". I was like, "well duh."

New copies of the CD have been tracked in Europe/UK since at least the mid-90s.
If you want to do it yourself, it's as simple as downloading any free audio editing software, ripping the CD and chopping up the wav file at the right points before converting them to the desired format. Should take about 10 minutes if that.
That's up to you personally. I think you'd have to be cracked in the head to be 'morally' against such a thing. I've downloaded loads of movies and CDs I own because it was quicker to do so than find the fucking disc itself!
