I was into this when it was released. I remember the huge whining at the time, I guess Black Sweat fixed that, or something :/
Not sure it was first single material (as is often the case), deserves a project of this sensibility to shine maybe? I should revisit it for a fresh take.

some whiny bitches on here dont Correct... poor childish rhyming lyrics (say/way, you/do) awful croaky falseto...can't fault the mediterranean feel though. But hey, each to their own but it just feels like a dumbed down paint by numbers love song dressed up as something different [Edited 10/25/11 0:41am] [Edited 10/25/11 0:51am]

Not only was is it amazing, but I loved the fact that Prince moved out from his comfort zone and created something totally out of left field for him. He was once again forging his own path and it was awesome. For too long he had been rehashing variations of his past themes or aping the current trends around him. With this song he amazed me again the way he had done so many times before in the past. Sounded like nothing he had done before. It just sounded fresh The arrangement and the musicianship is also amazing I love the lightness of it without being beige or bland. [Edited 10/25/11 7:50am]

Sounds better live to me, but it's not a bad song at all. I like the video

It would go quite well along side the 2009(?) version of In A Larg Room... - I'd love to see a project of this sound/feeling.

Mediteranean feel? The VIDEO had that vibe. The song is latin.

Mature? It doesn't seem any different lyrically than all his other non-sex romance lyrics. Musically it's a cute little psuedo-latin snooze fest. There are a couple of interesting chord changes, but the arrangement doesn't really present them in a very interesting way. He needs to stop feeling like he needs to complete a song in one day. They could really benefit from having time to ACTUALLY mature...

I was just in Istanbul last week, in the big old market in a leather jacket shop, and "Te Amo Corazon" came on in very quietly on the background music played in the shop. So random. My art book: http://www.lulu.com/spotl...ecomicskid

Te Amo Corazon is a beautiful love song and once again shows P's ability to craft something we wouldnt expect from him.
The video directed by Salma Hayek aint bad either...
The greatest live performer of our times was is and always will be Prince.
Remember there is only one destination and that place is U All of it. Everything. Is U.

Mediterranean = Latin We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I just can't take this song seriously... in part because when he sings "and the knowledge tree", I always imagine he's singing "and the Jell-O tree".

Well here's a thread title I never expected to see!
It's ok, but not amazing. IMHO of course. RIP

Nice song. Has a sort of bossa nova beat to it.

Whatever org members think about Get On The Boat, Te Amo Corazon, Black Sweat, and other 3121 music... if you look at YouTube, there are more people covering these songs and using them in their uploads that any of his work post 1990.
Who cares what anybody thinks right? Especially what me and other orgers think. Prince's people supposedly scan this site. I hope they do not take what orgers here say seriously. We as a whole do not represent the best taste in music by a long shot. Me or anyone else here. Prince should instead look to see what real people enjoyed of his music so much as to cover, use in their school dance show, or at parties and then upload to YouTube. These are the fans that matter.
I think 3121 is good album. And by the looks of YouTube uploads, so do a lot of people. Prince should always automatically dismiss what orgers think. I mean most of you like the "The Gold Experience" nuff said. [Edited 10/25/11 15:32pm]

^ Isn't that more a case of 3121 getting a promotional push in the US so it's more well known than most post-WB stuff? So I'd put that down to promotion and 3121 being a commercial pop/R&B album more than anything, I don't think it's any indicator of 'quality' - the general public very seldom are!

Lovely song always liked it but when he did it at the brits.....My god...just amazing live... Dave Is Nuttier Than A Can Of Planters Peanuts...(Ottensen)

Never said anything about quality. Especially on YouTube.
But for a project that is this old, and people still cover and use in their dance shows and whatnot, says something. It's definitely not about marketing.

One good example, is "Get On The Boat". As much as people here say they do not like it, there are so many uploads of live bands covering it at their shows with people on the dance floor tearing it up. With so much music to choose from, live bands are not going to practice and play stuff in a live setting to music that people do not like. They get instant feedback. And most of these bands do a pretty good job of this song. Horns and all.
