He loved Dune and The Matrix and The Passion of the Christ was especially meaningful to him.
He also enjoys documentaries like the ones on Miles Davis and Louis Armstrong. I'M NOT SAYING YOU'RE UGLY. YOU JUST HAVE BAD LUCK WHEN IT COMES TO MIRRORS AND SUNLIGHT!

Oh yeah he loved "Scanner...". He even spent the entire night talking to the director about it after the LA premiere and afterparty which Prince attended and then invited the director to his house to talk about until the sun came up.
"Jason and the Argonauts" I spotted on his shelf of videos in the Paisley Park break room at the last celebration. Thus maybe why you get something like "Glam Slam Ulysses" with it's cyclops monster.
"A.I." he's mentioned twice, if I remember right, in one of the NPG music club songs, he even uses the term "mecha" and that was close to after the movie came out. Not to mention that he followed up later with a mass concert audience viewing of Spielberg's "Minority Report" which he didn't seem to like that much.
