A whirlwind designed 2 slow U down

This Spooky Electric sound
Give up if U want 2 and all is lost
Spooky Electric will be your boss"

Prince was like a gateway drug to so many other people that I otherwise probabbly wouldnt have listened to such as Joni, Sam Cooke, Miles, Kate Bush, etc...

Prince's music has opened my mind 2 new ways

of looking at:

myself

love

life

Instantly, i connected with Prince's
voice and his vision

His message is about revolution

Go beyond the music and set
your mind free

UptownDeb

My assignment for class last night was to bring in 3 items representing my past, present, and future. Next to our displays we had to place a sheet of paper with those three words on it. The we went around writing comments about each others project. I brought in Dirty Mind to rep my past.

What people wrote:
into 80s music
Thought he was hot
funky
favorite singer
great music
80s freak (me; not Prince--I think)

What I said:
This album (actually I brought in the CD) was my "Leaves of Grass; Prince was my Walt Whitman."

Guess his music taught me how to appreciate talent and innovation.

His work on the first Time album taught me that the man is funky at his core.

Musically, more than I can post.

James Brown & Sly and the Family Stone were as important to music as Hendrix if not more so.

Hell, if that's the case then you should hear his work on the SECOND Time album!
