I think this song is a real Prince classic. It sounds so funky and so sexy - very fitting together with a woman. I love the duck-like sound that starts when he sings: "They loved to kiss on the steps of Versailles," and the instrumental part after he sings: "girls and boys." And the song is taken to yet another level with the way Prince sings the third verse: "Life is precious baby, love is so rare."

I cannot tell you how excited I was to be at his 3121 Las Vegas show the weekend after the Super Bowl - and he played this. I finally got to do the "hand dance" that goes with this song. It.was.fabulous.

my mum's cassette of Parade was the first bit of Prince I got into. Anotherloverholenyohead, Girls & Boys and Sometimes It Snows In April were the main three I loved. And when you think about it, those three give such a great cross-section kind of view on why people like us fall in love with his music!

Yes girls and boys is a top tune always reminds me of Wembley Arena 86...Those hand movements and tears in my eyes......But it aint as good as life can b so nice....

This song is an undeniable classic imo. Love this song. I also think it has some of the best drums Prince ever had. The combination of live drums & the beat machine drums mixed gives this track an even more unique sound.

This is one of his greatest songs in my opinion. Not a typical hit song, but a song that seperates him from the other big stars from the 80`s. A fantastic live song and it has aged very well because it has not the typical 80`s sound.

Great song. I remember having to get used to this song when I first bought the Parade album, but after listening in to it a few times it never went away. One of his best and the way he played it in '86 during the Parade tour is magnificent. Live it sounded even better.

THis song is a perfect example of Prince having his own sound ie Purple Music

I think this song shows Prince creating sounds not following trends. Even where the little 'rapping' comes into the song, it doesn't follow suite with 'Rap' styles that were out there. He didn't change to get with that genre, he changed it... I love this songs

And the video just reminds me of how Under the Cherry Moon should have been and why having band scenes would have blown the movie away...

I remember seeing the trailer and the way it played out looked like there were possible band scenes and I must admit I was disappointed, cause Girls & Boys video was seriously awesome

The only song that sounds a bit like Girls & Boys is Sexual Suicide from Crystal Ball... imo.

I prefer Girls & Boys, but Sexual Suicide is a brilliant funk track, also.

stunning, simply stunning - damn I miss Eric and Atlanta in the band.

When I first heard it, I thoguht it was very similar to Sheena Easton's Strut.

It was my favorite track on Parade for the longest time. That's such a great, quirky little album. I wish he would do something like it again.

It was made by the synth guitar that was give to Prince as a gift from Prince Albert of Monaco if I'm not mistaken.
