1. I simply prefer this song over When U Were Mine

2. I've never heard that song during one of the gigs I attended, and the other one I've seen/heard 3 times during Lovesexy. Although I must say that WYWM was fantastic during that tour.

Just a great composition and a bit more deep / layered on a lyrical level then Take Me With You.

Also a song that owes itself to interpetrations in several musical styles. It is one of Prince's most covered songs and i have heard it being performed in new-wave style, as electropop, as powerpop, as countryrock, among other styles.

I like them both: Live for Take me with you, studio for When U was mine.

I think they're very different songs , I love them both

I love both songs but I would definitely choose When U Were Mine. The melody is stronger and the lyrics are more interesting. I like his insight that he loves her more after she's gone.
