What should be Prince's Next Look/ Album be?

I would LOVE if Prince went back to his early roots..

Everyone knows Punk is big and going to get bigger! I want Prince to do a Punk Album!

Look: He should go back to "piece parting" his look like he did in the early 1980's.. don't get stuff made! Or just not as glossy.. I think Prince would look great in what he had on for the "America" video & or just the whole Dirty Mind kinda Groove

Music: Do a Prince-ish kinda Punk! You just don't care!! do 15 minute Guitar Solos! Make it gritty as hell like the After Show Live disk on ONA Boxset! That Live gritty Guitar sounds would be amazing!

I would love for Prince to do a full album of "hey I don't care.. I played guitar for 10 minutes.." totally live or very little fixing.. just total Prince Punk!

I loved this Live boxset.. just go to the next level! Less gloss.. just RAW! He tapped into something with the first to tracks off the afterwhow disk.. just that vibe..but Punk/Live/Raw!

He never should have cut his hair (from Rave), I'm always hoping he'll grow it back...

...and grow a beard...

...and wear ball-hugging clothes again...

Peace signs have never been more relevant than now either.

A pair of jeans and a Grateful Dead t-shirt. No facial hair and a buzz-cut.

The music would be acid-funk crossed with country and U.K.Garage.

Everyone says it was silly, but I agree with you, it was ok
I especially liked his "Come On" look with the pigtails all
over his head. That was funny. So were the braids from RAVE.

The only things that looked awful was when he had his long
hair, just flat and combed with 10 cans of hairspray in it.

It made him look like one of those rich french bitches of
65 who're on their way to get a manicure.

Not pretty.

I'd like him to do a flat out guitar based album, acoustic and rock and funk. As for his look I'd like him to be naked.

nod

I saw the SOTT and Play in the Sunshine performance from the 1987 MTV VMA's for the first time the other day and P was sporting that look. I thought it was one of his best looks.

I should clarify - I like it curled/combed, etc. The braids & pigtails were ri-goddamn-diculous!!! omfg

So we agree on the AMOUNT of hair he should keep on his head, not so much on how he should style it, LOL! biggrin

I think he should try cornrows in his hair. For clothes he could go a little more casual than the buttoned up tight suits that he's wearing now. He looks very prim and proper and all, but a little more casual wouldn't hurt.

For his sound, I think he could go with bass heavy dance beats. That would get his music back into the clubs.

I would agree w/ you about braids if we could go back in time about 6 years (maybe more). So many people are wearing braids right now, or they've already abandoned them & cut it off. He's never worn braids before (outside a few here & there during SOTT & the crappy plaits for Rave) - @ this point it would seem like he's late on a trend, which would be more deadly than those blue Rave ribbons sad

I just wish he'd left it medium length, like on the Rave DVD - that was SWEET kiss

He should go right out there- I would love to see him wear a purple Crash-helmet w/ the symbol on both sides like a football helmet.

He should wear a yellow jumpsuit with pirate frills

This look would be called "The Daredevil" with nods to his symbol name, D&P and PR era looks.

Prince in a big purple crash helmet would be cool

I’ve always wanted to see Prince minus all the horrible glam clothes. I’ve always wished he’d lay off the awful lettered, logo-ed and striped or obnoxiously printed NPG psuedo-hip hopper look. He looks awesome in sophisticated yet understated outfits – the basic sweaters, slacks and trenches he sports (I think he should think Calvin Klein, not Versace, from now on). I like the recent revisited suit-and-tie thing, but I hope he’ll get casual sometimes too. I’ve loved his hair in almost every style EXCEPT that accursed typhoon and the Rave-locks.

As for sound, I wouldn’t mind the new jazzy leanings with a bit of the classic Prince sound thrown in for “comfort food.” I am, in fact, a linn drum machine junkie, and I’d love to hear new works with that sound again. I’d also like to hear more minimally arranged instrumental work – simple guitar, piano and drums (I’d love to hear Prince himself on drums again!) – to complement the sort of heavily orchestrated instrumental work on The Rainbow Children.

Shut up Sq!!!
Prince can wear the heck out of some properly done braids and it would b a timely look 4 him, cause he has NEVER done it!
let my butt do his hair!

cornrows like Susan Taylor (essence mag) but with a few strands hanging just aside his eyes on each side n the front. the hair would b straight 2 the middle of his lower back.
he would have his tite goatee...and he would sport a silver chunky neck choker, like glass, with matching bracelet, sporting a single carat diamond stud n his ear.
his eyebrows would b arched, slightly, but only a little mascara on the eyes, maybe a little smoke shadow on the lids.

he would sport a brilliant white futuristic 'ballhugging' cat suit, cotton lycra, open 2 the belly button, but covered with one of his chiffon Princely, priestlike fitted robes with a mock nehru collar, down 2 the floor and floats when he walks...he would b bare foot with silver ankle chains and tinkle bells...and he would PLAY THE HELL OUT OF HIS GUITAR!!!
he would during this look make his life song...the one that after he sings it U just no there IS NO MORE...

c what u made me write Calhoun Sq!!! shake

I like the jazz of Xpectation, and would be happy to see him continue down that road.

It seems that Prince gave up on electronic music a very long time ago - But I'd to see what he would do with a few electroclash and synth pop influences like Felix daHousecat, Miss Kitten or even Detroit Grand Pubahs.

Your butt can braid?? omg You should go to Ripley's w/ that shit nod

ill lol Seriously, if he did it I'd dig it but it's a little late in the game for that. Too many braids floating around - he shouldn't jump on a bandwagon, he should create his own trend nod

he would sport a brilliant white futuristic 'ballhugging' cat suit, cotton lycra, open 2 the belly button...

NOW you're talkin'!! horny
