I've been reading through some of these post & watching how some of you defend Prince [a person I guarantee most of you don't know personally whatsoever] just because he makes great music & I just have to say.......

Some of you seem as if you'd put his stool on fried potatoes & eat it like chili fries, suck a fart out of the guys ass & use your tears to wash his feet....but, of course this isn't just limited to Prince {MJ worshippers are even worse imho}. Is it so hard to realise the Guy is a human being? Can't you just admit that he's wrong on/about a lot of things just like the rest of us?

...& Don't expect me to try to defend my thoughts or argue with any of you, those days for me are over,

....So with this said, feel free to prove my point.

i feel like if i was in the position to use his feces as chilli, suck farts out of his anus, and wash his feet with my tears... that might make for an interesting book, with lots of f TV apearances and what have you.

Of course, he is a human being and he makes mistakes like everyone else.

BUT

Sometimes people are being very ignorant. IMO. and people judge him, we don't really know him personally, right? So saying that he is an asshole or a dick is also not fair, imo. Or that he doesn't care about this or that, blablabla all that talk.

In all seriousness Prince has made bad choices and brilliant choice throughout his career but it seems his fanbase was more forgiving of the bad choices when he was in the top 10 on Billboard. Now that he's not a chart topper he gets overanalyzed to death on everything he does and critiqued beyond reason. In case nobody noticed the basic tone of 'Purple Rain' the movie painted him as an asshole and a control freak who was forgiven all of his sins because he played a killer set of 3 songs! There was never a point in the movie where he uttered the words 'I'm sorry' or 'I apologize' to anyone he dogged throughout the film. His behavior is not new, it's just not tolerated any longer by most. The only issue I tend to get annoyed by is why people act like he was such a noble and generous saint back in the 80's and 90's and all of sudden he's a tyrannical asshole now? It's about the music nothing more or less. As a person he's done nothing for me. As a musician dude has blessed me with too much for words to measure.

Are there any? What evidence of worshipers are there...because most of the time I either see songs being praised or some bashing comment about his recent music. There are a fair amount of middle-ground people here too.

Where are these so called Prince worshippers?

Exactly. I say let the people who actually know him speak for him since he does not for himself. The man has given millions in philanthropy work and charities and even asks for food and clothing donations. Lets let the negativity stay with the people who actually had a bad time with him and let the music talk to us. SOmetimes it is good, sometimes it is bad..but that's not a reason to attack him as a person.

There are definitely Prince & MJ Worshippers. There are people who know more about Prince than the Gods they "supposedly" worship...& they're here on this site

Lame that you don't want to defend your position. Thus, the reason some people are calling this bait (Not to mention the condescending feel free to prove my point.).

Just as people defend Prince for his celebrity/music/idol worship there is an equal amount of attacks on Prince as a person for the same reasons. As you mentioned, we don't know Prince personally, yet we feel free to attack him on his decisions or choices he makes-even though we don't know all the facts or know Prince personally. What does that say about us?

Plus, Prince doesn't have anyone on here representing his point of view-not fair. In the court of public opinion someone must represent Prince. Seeing how Prince doesn't want to (Who could blame the guy.)Who then? I am consistently surprised by people who write about Prince on this site and forget about the term libel.

To me its more about a difference about being a 'fam' or a 'fan'.

To be honest, i never even heard about the word 'fam' when i started visiting the org. But i learned something from it.. lol

The 'fam' seems to bother about the artist he or she loves in a much broader way. Fams seems to consider these artists like role-models, or even like friends and family-members, or worse: like divine people. The 'fam' seems to threat his or her idol like some ideal figure, who can almost do no wrong: like some sub-human figure who knows things 'we' ordinary people dont understand.

And therefore the 'fam' seems very gullible and naive when it coems to defending his or her idol: the pedophilic tendencies of Michael Jackson are ignored by these type of people, they are easy to blame his family or his situation for these type of things, because in their mind Michael isnt human but subhuman. I am not saying Michael Jackson did actually abuse those kids, and turned into a pedosexual, is there proof for that? But a 'fan' with a more detached view, is more likely to put some questionmarks unto Michael Jacksons behaviour, then a 'fam' who dreams away into superstar-fairytales, and who sees it as some OJ Simpson kind of 'complot'.

The 'fan' seems to appreciate the creative output of the artist they admire, but at the same time doesnt feel affraid to and is honest enough to admit the artist he or she admires is human after all.

To me, thats a level-headed and realistic approach when it comes to judging the 'gifts' of fellow humans.

Prince might have a gift to deliver 'genius' music, but he not always doesn't. He is human after all. Prince makes a lot of business mistakes also.

Prince has the potential to deliver some of the best music around, but the fact is also that he has been underachieving on that level in the last 15 years or so.

A Prince 'fan' would say: show me that spark again. A prince 'fam' would say: 20ten is his newest masterpiece, another example of Prince being untouchable as an artist.

It's support and appreciation for me. I do not worship him at all. When I say I LOVE him it's just that I admire what he does.

I actually haven't seen anyone on here who speaks so highly of him all the time. I see more who are the exact opposite.
