I agree. The whole album is very cohesive, which is completely counter to it's perceived intention as a thrown-together mish-mash. It is "jazzy", and gets played beginning to end all of the time like a good album should. This is always one of the Prince CDs I take on long road trips. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot. | |

You are so right, especially concerning the intention-bit. Is there anything known about Prince's own intention with this album? Was it an album he maybe felt the general public wouldn't accept form him, so this would make a good moment to release it anyway? That's how I felt about it. All that bathing in purple rain just can't be good for your health... | |

I really like this album too, kinda jazzy, and very sophisticated musically. One of his better albums of the nineties! RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time... |

I love this album so much! One of my band directors gets so sick of hearing about Prince all the time and I played The Vault's version of Old Friends 4 Sale for him and he said "okay..I guess pretty good." :p What is your main problem?
