years ago i used 2 have my own celebration for his birthday but i don't anymore and it has nothing 2 do with his own personal beliefs about religion either. this isn't about whether who's a bigger fan than another here on the org either, this is just plain old common sense. there have been many great artists, politicians, athletes that have inspired millions of people in different ways that don't get the recognition like the one your posing here.

How about "Paisley Day?"

When you demonstrate in front of the White House, maybe you could also hold up some signs promoting Prince's current agenda of stronger copyright protection for songwriters. I'm sure he would appreciate the positive publicity that your protest would bring to his cause.

I hope this holiday thing works out.

Currently the gov't is tied up with NAMBLA's request to make Michael Jackson's bday a national holiday.....so it may take awhile.
