So?

Once we have undisputable fact about MJ's health situation at the time of the presales we can see if this claim about MJ's intentions makes him look worse or not.

So I really do reserve to comment on this.

supply and demand

I have no doubt about the demand...it's the supply that was always in doubt.

Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

Just proves how delusional MJ had become, his drugged out speech going on about wanting to be the greatest entertainer in the the world, and this admission by the AEG CEO saying that Michael wanted to do 10 more shows than Prince.

You know, lets not forget that Prince didn't just do 21 nights at the O2 Arena (nobody's ever gonna beat that) but practically every aftershow at the Indigo2. Thats around 40 shows in a space of a month and half! MJ was meant to do 50 over a period of around 8 months. Now we know he was in such a bad state that it would have been a miracle if had completely even one of those shows.

Its sad that nobody, not his family nor the 'yes' men/women around Michael, stepped in to take proper care of him or to get help. What a waste.

Actually, I thought Prince looked tired at the end of last august. I hope he is resting enough now and not pushing himself to show himself off.

I can imagine how addictive performing is, and that after a tour, one is back home and needs to go 'cold turkey' from all that admiration and adrenaline of playing for thousands of people and traveling around.

However, I do think it can wear a body down and I truly hope that Prince is going to be able to balance his need for adrenaline from performances and kicks from getting worshipped by the crowd during a performance with taking proper care of his body and give it a rest.

The early death of MJ is sad and I hope people in the limelight will learn from it and balance their lifes.

99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

The sad thing is that he was ALREADY one of the greatest entertainers out there. If not "the greatest" then so what? He was UP THERE! What more could he possibly want? The fans (both male and female) scream for him and practically worship him. It's sad that he couldn't achive something on his own standard and instead try beating another artists achivement.

I love them both and don't believe in the rivalry. But this shit is insane.

MJ must have been truly pissed when Prince's Superbowl halftime show was considered the best one, clearly outshining MJ's lip-synched show. Purple Rain in the rain was classic.

To hear that MJ was obsessed about beating Prince's record 21 nights at the O2 Arena is not surprising. I'm guessing that wasn't the only obsession MJ had about Prince.

All of that painful plastic surgery and skin bleaching MJ did to his face and body demonstrates a man who is well acquainted with obsession. Not to mention severe mental problems. And his family, friends and fans said MJ was just fine. No, he wasn't. Dr. Murray should be convicted of manslaughter, because he was grosslly negligent in caring for MJ. But MJ was doing damage to MJ long before Dr. Murray came along.

Chasing

Rest in peace MJ. His music was and performances were and are always will be legendary, such a sad loss to entertainment industry, a true legend inevery sense.

When we experience Michael's music without him here, particularly when new audiences still find him captivating as a performer, we know what a true loss he is music the world over.

Having watched "This Is It" - he was very frail, I don't think even if he had made it to London for the 31 nights, the concerts themselves would not have been without tragedy - he was to frail oto make such a gruelling set of concerts. Shame, such a shame.

Take note on how the Doctor cared more about the fact that Michael was his patient than actually helping him out. Taking pics of his body and recording him on his iPhone? He wanted attention and didn't care about MJ's well being.

He killed MJ.

Some people say that when Marvin Gaye gave his father a gun for a present, he was quietly hoping for his dad to use it, so Marvin was actually committing suicide.
I'm surprised no one has yet come up with the theory that MJ with al his drug use was also committing suicide.
On a positive note, I think DJJ has made a good point about touring being addictive. (70 year old Bob Dylan doing 100 shows a year is obviously suffering from this) Maybe that's why Prince does the Paisley Park/Vegas/21 Nights in one city shows: so that he can still enjoy playing without the stress of traveling.

Michael could have done the shows and he most definatly could have completed one show (lol Darshy lol) Those goals are very reachable and don't make him delusional and yes, like most people, he was in very bad shape while heavily under the influence but we have to remember that what you heard in the recording wasnt all the time.

TII proves he had a clear mind and strong body when not under the influence, anyone who says otherwise is flat out wrong. He did have an addiction, and yes, it is partialy Michaels fault that hes dead, but the Dr. has just as much responsibility in the matter.

I could listen to you speak the truth for days....headbang

Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

The only addiction he has, as far as that's concerned, is for money. And he's only going to make it off of touring (probably the same for Dylan). He can't sell a CD these days to save his life.

It's not that they didn't want to help, he didn't allow them to help him, or want their help. Murray could've been replaced, Michael had plenty of access to physicians who would write him as many meds as he wanted, and just fly them in under assumed names. He knew how to play the system, and I'm sure he was no stranger to ordering them online.

But people liked him when they've spent time with him or worked with him. That's why few people have ever said anything negative about him. No one's come out of the woodwork and called him a monster after he's passed on (or buy the theory he's on Brando's old island & Miko's the only one who knows).

And I'm sure there were MANY different reasons why MJ eventually ended up signing up for 50 shows. He hadn't performed on stage for what, 7, 8 years at that point? I'm sure he wanted to prove to HIMSELF that he still got it. He needed money too. And really, he got so many requests that he wanted to extend the show dates for his FANS....so...

I think Mike also wanted to see if he still had it and his only competition was still Prince. It was just fun and games and the love of fans wanting more... but it just was too much. I don't care what anyone has to say about MJ, he was very talented and he pushed himself to hard. He always had it, a very unique voice and more than enough to back him up. sadly I do believe he needed the money and there are more reasons other than Prince for making him do more shows, but Prince did add to that.

I remember seeing a documentary or something where an MJ biographer (?) says that MJ would be up at night putting together song ideas and when asked why, MJ said b/c god was sending him these ideas in the middle of the night and he was afraid if he ignored them, god would give them to Prince. If anyone else has heard this, please let me know - or correct me if I'm wrong.

Anyway, this thread is really making me realize how difficult if must be to perform concerts night after night - I just don't know how performers do it! Especially ones who've been doing it for decades. Some of these tour dates that I see for singers & bands - it's just brutal!

IMO, he lost himself and his musical purpose a long time ago and couldn't/wouldn't get back to that point.
