When The Lights Go Down...

I love the way this song feels when I put it on...It's a sexy jazz jacket.

Anyway, I love it so much that I thought about building a tour concept around this song.

"10" years from now, Prince and the band will be older. It would be nice to have an intimate stage setting. A tall mantle stage left with icicle like flames that carry blue and yellow lights that rise about 5 feet. Stage right could be a long tall water bubble tank, with primarily blue lights. (Sea-Green) lavendar...

The stage could have two tall pub tables for "4" background singers, two at each table.

The drummer could sit on a tall couch.

Prince could sit in a nice light blue velvet chair.

The guitar players...I'm not really sure about their chairs...

Occassionally the members can stand and mingle on the stage.

So, here is a set-list for a hypothetical, "When the Lights Go Down," tour of 2021.

~Get Blue

~So Blue

~When the Lights Go Down

~Satisfied

~Damn U

~Gotta Broken Heart Again

~Dionne

~Shy

~Willing and Able

~Somewhere Here On Earth

~Adore

~Slow Love

~Mellow

~Reflection

~Love like Jazz

~The One

~Call My Name

~On the Couch

~The Other Side of the Pillow

Limit the encore to two songs....that's it...A timed/get off the stage in 90 minutes gig.

~Extraordinary

~Just as Long as We're 2gether

By the way, hypothetically, I'm the stage manager. razz

It's an uphill climb to the finish line.

I mean icicle flames like a fire place, from the ground up...with a mantle.

This doesn't exist yet.

Awwe...

I'm sure a bed wouldn't be to far away from the venue...

I think there's a lot of people that would love a slow sexy evening.

It's ten years down the road remember.

I like the idea, but your description of it as '10 years later with everyone older' makes it sound like putting a pillow over the face of a frail elderly relative.

On the other hand, if Prince's hip problems get really bad, your dream just might come true because it would be the only thing left for him to do... chair

Thanks 4 your responses...

Taking it easy is what it is all about. We will all be ten years older...

Those of us with a wild hair that night can dance to "Let's Go Crazy," in the parking lot.

I just get this vision of a nice, laid-back, jazzy, under-the-sea...type of feeling. Nice and Cool.

bobbyperu~U'd be there.

Have to agree with you about Let's Get it on, Andy ruined that song in Rotterdam this year. Prince saved it by playing some nice guitar.

I absolutely LOVE this song. I think its THE most underrated tune in Prince's catalog...it soooo smooth. I dig your tour idea...I think he was kinda going in this direction with One Night Alone tour...but even that one he had us stretch a little bit with 1+1+1=3 and a few other upbeat tunes. The funk always will sneak in somehow, someway at a Prince show.

yea i'd love a show like this, all slowed down & stuff. he can then move about the stage all slow & sexy so he can save his energy, then he can make lots of cum faces & humping guitar/shaking maracas razz

I love this song too. Maybe you're right about the funk sneakin' in...

There are nights when couples would want a slow romantic thing...That's why I put, "Just as long as We're together," as the last song, because it picks up the crowd to walk them out the door...

And maybe a 2 hour show would be better.
