If I could ask Prince 2 do a cover...

...it would b "Just Like Heaven" by The Cure. This is 1 of my favorite songs of all time...the music, background keyboards and lyrics remind me of a vibe Prince would get in2.

Spinning on that dizzy edge
I kissed her face and kissed her head
And dreamed of all the different ways I had
To make her glow
"Why are you so far away?" she said
"Why won't you ever know that I'm in love with you
That I'm in love with you"

& the voice he would use is that deep, gruffy tone he has...as in (I think)

part 2 of eye Wish U Heaven (ya'll know...when he says "Sheila, have the choir hit a long note")

cool

also, the way the rhythm guitar is played in this tune makes me feel like Prince would rock it; eye do think he would add more distortion though

who knows, maybe 1 day Prince will surprise us wink

Heaven

Little Wing - Jimi Hendrix

Everyday People - Sly and the Family Stone (he does it live and it rocks)

Orion - Metallica (it's an amazing instrumental)

Susan - turn the guitar up a little bit....

Prince probably wouldn't do it...

The original is classic and wonderful by itself.

I'd love to hear Prince do, "When you're in love with a beautiful woman," by Dr. Hook.

Love this band.

It's an uphill climb to the finish line.

Rihanna seems to like to do Prince covers, so he should do one of hers. How bout Disturbia?

I'd like to also hear his version of the Stones' Paint it Black , how he'd change it around. (Did he ever cover I Can't get no Satisfaction?- that'd be great, too.)

Have u had your + sign today?

Stand Back>Stevie Nicks with Prince on synths.]

Prince did an interview with a woman at Record World. They talked about whatever, then he asked her: "Does your pubic hair go up to your navel?" At that moment, we thought maybe we shouldn't encourage him to do interviews.

it's been interesting to see that others also dig Prince doing other people's tunes now and then. just a step back to "Just Like Heaven"...if I think about the way he sang "All Along the Watchtower" at the Superbowl, that is the kind of voice I hearing him singing The Cure's Tune in.

Now many have been highly annoyed by Prince's doing so many Sly tunes, but after reading about Sly living in a Van in the street by a family member's house; perhaps that is why Prince has been doing it...coz he knows that indirectly, he's helping Sly out *sigh*

For those who did not know, peep here > click

I'd ask him to do this song called "Head" by this dude named Prince. He may have even heard it himself before.

wink

Seems like he's willing to do ever song but his own GOOD ONES.

JUST LIKE HEAVEN - what a tune, yeah it woudl be very interesting to hear that for sure. Katie Melua did a good version of that tune too.

I would be interested to hear a prince cover of Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean" - i know difficult as totally iconic to MJ, but nevertheless I reckon a prince cover woudl be very interesting, especially live.

Other tunes would be interesting, would be Sting's 'Fragile' and Sade's "Soldier of Love", I reckon Prince might really rock that tune out.

As an al time studio classic, I woudl love to hear him record a Stevie tune, "Superstition", that woudl be the bomb, saw him do that live in 2007 and Indigo2, he totally nailed it.

Well, if it's the NPG y'all r reasoning about (doing covers), & specifically Shelby on voice I would have to say the tune must be:

>

Prince's own: Still Would Stand All Time

I am not sure if Prince has ever performed this live, but it requires a powerful voice that can scale the octaves high and low: & 1 w/ that southern, gospel reverberation (roar)

For a cool Shelby interview about her experiences and also working with Prince, peep this >
