It would all depend upon a professor having a musical interest in Prince. If there is no interest in him, it won't happen.
Personally, I think it is a very good idea to discuss such an icon in music. A course could probably be introduced as "Eighties Music Icons: Where Are They". It would be a great course and would fit in in a more liberal college. There are many resources that would aid a professor or grad student in compiling the course materials. Just some thoughts... Every week at GWU, the jazz faculty in the music dept. holds a jam session/seminar. They'll often focus on a particular artist. Usually the artist would be a jazz musician, however; they did focus on Prince for one session. I remember they played some songs, Purple Rain, Jam of the year and something else I forgot. Later, they invited the students to come up and jam. Talk to someone in your music department (Head of the dept. maybe?) . They could help in setting something up. "I ordered no broth!
