I love most of this album! I will be picking it up as soon as I can! Beyonce copied the title for her Beyonce Experience tour haha

The Gold Experience is one of my all time favorite Prince albums. I wore it out back in '95 when it came out. That is the last Prince album that I loved every song on. I don't care what anyone says I think that album is one of his all time classics. A terrific LP and worthy to be added to your collection.

I wrote countless posts about how I love this album.

In my opinion, it's his best.

I was so disapointed when Emancipation came out, and it was a total new band and he still called it NPG !!

to me the real NPG was Sonny, Michael, Tommy and Morris..

when I played the CD first time I was blown away by P. control.. and also I heard I hate U on the radio !

Yeah, I heard I Hate U on the radio, too. That's what made me buy the album and I loved every song on it and the operator segs that so many people seem to hate.

P*Control made me a (almost) instant 'fan' ... Saw Jam of The Year - Miami and that was all she wrote ...

I'll be the spoiler, I think that TGE is overrated! It's alright, I prefer Come over TGE. Come is real Prince, TGE is Prince trying to prove something and it lacked that genuine Prince feel to me.

I will say it. Overrated and cheesy. Time has not been kind to most of Prince's 90's work and this one especially. To me this album always typifies the worst of 90's Prince.

"Shy," and "Gold," are my favorite two songs from the CD.

LOVE IT! one of my faves. the only song i'd trade is Now, on record it's nowhere as good as the live version. maybe Acknowledge Me would've been better.

Overrated? You do realize that the mainstream music-buying population lost track of Prince somewhere around The Love Symbol Album, right? That means they've written off practically everything he's done since (except for the single release of "Most Beautiful Girl" months before TGE came out). There was (and is) no one around to rate this album except Prince fans, and if they say Shhh, Endorphinmachine and I Hate U are great songs, I'm inclined to side with them.

Oh, and Come was a shrug-off album that doesn't have the punch and color of TGE (IMO).

I agree until the last bit, i think Come has it's place along side TGE, Exodus and C&D as a really productive 3 year period, shame no one else knew about it apart from us.

I tottaly agree..

I love this album. The sound mix is a murky mess in a lot of places, and some of the keyboard parts are too cheesy, but when it works it really, really works. P. Control, Shhh, and 319 are just great!

I think if I could trade a couple of songs from Come, for a couple I don't love from TGE, it would be too good.

Except for the questionable P Control TGE is the product of a conservative musician, very good in parts, but so not forward thinking.
