I am very addicted to this song.I have the Dreams version,which I know nothing of the recording date,the Xenophobia version,the "95 version,and the npgmc live version.I love them all.I am ,currently,really feeling the Xenophobia version.I know he stops near the beginning and talk to the audience,but when he really starts singing on this I feel like he transformed from merely "perfrming" to really feeling it.I hear something in his voice.I feel a tension there and a tension in the instrument's voices. I gt this same emotional buildup and hair-standing freeze from Radiohead's "Pyramid Song".When I'm not busy being cool I could let myself go and cry over these songs.You gotta have soul.
