Prince did have a cat once upon a time. He wrote a song about her.

Actually he had 2 cats and the other danced 4 him and was the best dancer he ever had!

I agree with Orion...somebody didn't clean poor Paisley's bowl regularly.

I love cats too. I have three of them, and they're like my kids.

Poor Paisley and his dirty cat bowl. I petsit other people's animals, and I would NEVER allow a pet's bowl to get dirty like that. No wonder the poor thing died.

Yes, Paisley was found while Paisley Park was being built. In the "Gett Off" video collection, there is a part where Rosie Gaines is sitting with a cat in her lap, and she is petting it. I have often thought that the cat in the video was Paisley, but I don't know for sure.

There is a cat at the cat shelter where I work named Scarlett. Of course, I want to call her, "Scarlett Pussy", and sing that song to her, but I don't think the people I work with would appreciate that very much. I tend to call her "Scarlett O'Hara", like the actress.
