Sooooo, I've got this thing with 'The Human Body', where I just think it's incredible. Most of the time I hear people talk about it they hate it but...

Point is; I've been watching the 'Freedom' dvds by Chaos today for the first time and it got me wondering whether anyone knows of any instances of a live performance of 'The Human Body' or, demo versions, or any versions other than just the one on the disc.

I haven't had much of a look, and it's not 'cause I'm lazy, I just figure if there's some discussion or any bits of trivia to add from anyone, that'd be a little more interesting than computer nerding about in pyjamas for the afternoon looking for leads

so yeah...anyone know anything?

No known live performances or alternate versions... although he did include a slightly remixed (IIRC) version on NPG Ahdio show #11.

I think THE HUMAN BODY and NEW WORLD are some of the best dance tracks he ever created, unfortunately I dont know any other existing versions than those on Emancipation and Ahdio 11.

They deserve a good remix, from one ot those hot kids outthere, stretching it to full effect ....

The Human Body is not a bad track actually, it's just too long!

Funny, I'd actually prefer it to be longer, but with less of the vocal section and stretching out more with the final section of the track, moving in to ever evolving territories.

Still dig the track as it is - but I have become more comfortable with the vocal over the years; it used to grate initially!

Even funnier, I always wished there were more vocals! That falsetto always reminded me of the early days.

I'm not against the quality of the falsetto, or the performance, it just never really sat comfortably with the rest of the track, for me. I used to feel that he'd made a fairly good techno track and then tried to squeeze in a lyric and vocal, somewhat unsuccessfully. But, as I said earlier, I've become more accustomed to it over the years.

Man, "The Human Body" is the best track on Emancipation, give or take "Face Down." I just can't stress enough that any Prince mixtape or compilation - personal or commerical - would be VERY well-served by its inclusion.

it IS by far, the best on Emancipation...closely followed by Face Down and then I could pretty much disregard the rest. it's soooooo good.

I agree. New World is haawwt...and Human Body ...just needs more lyrics imo...an extended version with a bridge...
