I know how you feel. I'm still annoyed I missed him last time he was in Sydney.

Why would a musician be obligated to visit certain parts of the world, because some fans live there? Why would any musician be obligated to tour at all?
It's a musician's offer to make it able for you to pay to see them. If a musician needs your money, he'll tour more, if he doesn't, he won't.
People can bach Prince and his music how ever much they want, I'm not the one taking sides in silly discussions like that - but what upsets me is how the occupation of a musician is looked upon by some people. No musician has to tour to be a good musician. You can stop being a fan if you find it reasonable enough to do so because he didn't tour your country for seven years (which is quite ridiculous, in my opinion, but that's your choice), but to support "Fuck that musician!" threads because of that is even more ridiculous and very ungrateful and rude.
So, to answer your question, a Midwest fan would have to work more, spend less money, take a trip to the closest Prince concert or be more patient to get to a Prince concert.

^ I'm getting dressed for work like you so rudely stated, but let me say this- I am so tired of people coming on here talking to people like they have no home training! I can think of several orgers who do this daily and the shit is old! Secondly, I never said "fuck Prince." I said I can sympathize with people who feel that way and I'm getting to that point. It was my choice and privilege to become a Prince fan 30 yrs ago and I made a great choice! I do feel like artist do owe fans for supporting their music and efforts. The money that I spent on Prince has been a small fortune, but again my choice. I do believe that he does need to show more areas he appreciates our support of him and with. That being said I could say fuck you, but I won't!

I never said you didn't get dressen for work or something (nor did I say you didn't even go there). I simply stated a solution to your problem. If you want to see Prince and he is too far away, spend some money to go there.
Prince has fans all over the world, and trust me, at least half of them wish Prince would visit their country/area more often. Could any musician possibly do that? Of course not.
I just don't think that we have the right to moan about where he is touring. It's his business, not ours. We are the people who either choose to give him his money or not.

So here's a question (and no sarcasm please), how does Prince or any other artist for that matter choose which city to visit and which ones to pass up? I have no idea how that works but don't they base it on album sales or some other weird data like that? Or does Prince simply pull names of cities out of a hat and says, "Yeah, alright" (given that he is eccentric, this wouldn't surprise me either). Trolls be gone!

I don't mean to be rude, but you've apparently lost your memory... he does what he wants, when he wants....period.

hey there nursev, i know how you feel. i grew up in norman,ok and was too young for the 1999 tour - he played the loyd noble center. and he went to dallas for his other tours. it wasn't until i was an adult and moved to the east coast(now in sc) that ive had the chance to see him on both musicology and this tour. i must say being here east thru the 2000s has been great for seeing concerts. but i still remember my frustration living in the midwest.
:hugs: Prince #MUSICIANICONLEGEND
