This was asked a while back (but not fully answered) but do we know what completed songs were written specifically for the Purple Rain movie? I'm not talking about songs that were simply recorded from '83 - '84 or the movie score BTW...

Of the songs from this era supposedly Computer Blue, When Doves Cry, The Beautiful Ones, G-Spot, Electric Intercourse, Wednesday, Father's Song and Lisa's version of Mia Boca were written specifically for the film.

Purple Rain & Baby I'm a star existed long before the project so those are out. Summer of '83 he demos Let's Go Crazy & Darling Nikki -- was this before the movie's conception? That may be tough to determine... I imagine Erotic City and Another Lonely Christmas were never intended to be part of the project

So the remaining song from the album, I Would Die for You, was it dug up out of the vault or created just for the film?

Bonus Question: were any of the following songs considered for the film since they were recorded after summer '83 but before Doves?

I know When Doves Cry and take Me With U were. I think Darling Nikki might have been too. Purple Rain's title was made before the song so I don't know.
