Prince plays it. (I just went to that point in the 8/3/83 concert and watched him do it.) It's not terribly clear, though - so he may have "sweetened" it in the studio. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves. | |

There's not one single thing that Prince has ever played on the guitar that I cannot play. That's not bragging, of course, as Prince is not a technical guitarist. He is, like Mile Davis, known for the awesome music he makes, NOT how difficult it is to play. Dizzy Gillespie could play circles around Miles technically, (as I could around Prince) but I'd rather listen to Miles Davis blow his horn anyday just as you folks would rather listen to Prince than me.
