I Love Prince... (*I checked to see if there was a recent I Love Prince thread and didn't see one, so Im starting a new one)
I love Prince so freaking much, I won't even cuss right now because thats how much I love him. His music makes me feel...all different kinds of ways. I am in awe of his talent and charisma. I am in awe of his artistry and dedication, self discipline and work ethic. I know that I will cry if he ever dies while I am alive...and I have never cried over anyone famous dying before..ever. He. Is. Amazing.... Amazing...truly...

Yeah I did! And I gave him cat eyes too. It'd look more like him if I spent more time on it, but I didn't bother as it's only for school, and I'm just not good enough at drawing to get his features right. | |

I've noticed that instead of getting love, you're getting the opposite on this thread. So I'd just like to offer some consolation by pointing out that most of topics here, from memories of concerts, discussion of songs & eras, questions about his career, etc., display some sort of LIKE, if not LOVE, of Prince (at least, of his work). In fact, it's easier to show appreciation by discussin those other things, than by a direct "declaration" like you're asking for here. | |

I love him so much I think about him all the time. His music made my crappy days 100 times better...funny how I can love someone I've never even met in my entire life this much.... I hope he knows how much his fans love him!!

I might love his music, but him? WHY?
Regarding my assertion about how much I read about him, I mean 'facts', not 'impressions' of the authors.
Anyway, there's no need to read anything: just by listening to what he usually says and what he usually does it's clear for me that he's a cunt.
Just the disrespect he usually shows towards fans is enough to have a very bad concept of him.
But I'm definitely interested to know WHY y'all mix unmixable things and therefore you say you 'love the person' when all you're suppossed to love is his artistic output.
Those who say reading a lot of very professional stuff is not enough of a reason to hate him shouln't have, by the same rule of three, a reason to 'love' him.

You must really HATE both Prince and your mother...I don't love Prince. I love (most of) his music. And he may have made some bad decisions (the perfume thing is a recent example) and I don't like it that he turned into a religious fundamentalist. But what I will not do is judge him as a person based on his records, interviews, articles or whatever. | |

I cannot say I 'love' a man I have never met. What I can say is that I respect and admire his talent and his work ethic. That he's reportedly a bit of a laugh in person is just a bonus.
I take all the negative stuff written about him with a thousand grains of salt. A lot of those stories are bald-faced lies based on jealousy or the need to sell stories. Even if 'some' of it is true (and I am not agreeing that it is), I don't know anyone who can touch as many lives as he has without ticking someone off. If you stand for something, anything really, you will tick people off.
But love is too strong a word for someone I only know through his work. Respect and admiration for his musical talent and genius? That, yes. When you don't have a case, yell RACE! | |
