What was the last 'great' guitar solo that the masses would have heard.. ....surely it can't be Gold?. Think about it, if you asked most peopel to name a Prince solo it would be Purple rain or LGC. I can't think of anything more recent other than Gold that was released as a song to radio with a great solo that actually got any airplay!!. Peach perhaps. Yikes, surely there's more?.
