I just heard a cleaner version of Cosmic Day! Much fuller sound, more cd like, no scratchyness. It's the same length, but I'm starting to think that maybe the song was that long.
It does really bring out just how marvelous this song is. Great use of the double vocal. The chorus is not perfect. Pure Prince heaven. All you others say Hell Yea!!

So where did you hear it?

It must be of amazing quality if it turned this turkey of a song into something listenable.

Err... I don't. Double vocal..? If we're talking the 1984 show that segue's into Roadhouse garden, there's no double vocal on that, is there? blah blah blah

That's not the full length of the song. It may well be a short song, but there's DEFINITELY at the very least, a second verse. Boris posted lyrics before on HouseQuake. T has the full length, I think.
A cleaner version most likely is the existing widely circulating clip ran through some pro audio plugins (ie, Noise, Hiss and Hum removers and some careful compression and EQ tweaking). |

Nope, I think you'll find that my red wine is talking about Our Destiny, Erik's just caught up.

I also remember the post mentioning the second verse. I love the song. It's stupid and odd and cheesy as hell, but for me it works. blah blah blah

Me too. I must have listened to that clip a hundred times. Seriously, I'd put the full song right at the top of my wishlist to leak next. Along with a couple others from that same clip tape.

I just dont get what the big deal is about this song. Its good - but there is so much greater from Prince in that era in my opinion. It is not like Old Friends 4 Sale (the piano version) or The Grand Progression was as far as unreleased Prince gems are concerned

Lotusbox is another turd released by Eye Records which comprises the stolen stuff from FBG's Box O'Chocolates, the snippets, and some other trax we all already had.
But of course, they HAD TO press and sell what always was for free.
That's how they got the money to bribe someone at Montreux, scalping the fans.

Lotus Box was random as fuck. First it had those random "Dance 4 Me" remixes, then some Lotusflow3r.com rips, then some random NPGMC tracks, then the Box O Chocs stuff and Cosmic Day etc tape snippets.... then the third disc had "Modernaire" and a bunch of Rosie Gaines tracks???
Didn't make sense at all. |
