Prince should of used "the vault" like I-tunes

we know of his music clubs in the past...but how cool would it have been if he had all music from the vault be ready for download like I-Tunes?? he would own all the rights to the music and he would of made a ton of money....

Enough already! I've seen this same mistake over and over again! There is no such phrase as "Prince should of!" It is "Prince SHOULD HAVE" or the contraction "Prince SHOULD'VE." I have never seen this grammar error in my life until the last couple of years or so. Don't they teach correct grammar in schools anymore?!! mad razz lol

Lots of time on your hands ay? Going around on a Prince fan site correcting people's grammar, sad. Oh and you can reread my post I did not say would of.

Not you! The Op used the bad grammar. lol I'm really tired of seeing that particular problem; I "would of" preferred not to. razz

I guess not. Back in 1997 one of my teachers marked my work and he wrote a comment at the bottom of the page saying that I "may of" wished to include.... whatever it was that he said. lol

I still remember that sh*t. lol

That is pretty much what he said he was going to do when he launched those music club sites. Prince instead recalculated his options and felt that since he already had CASH IN HAND from so many people he could just keep that dough and use the Vault tracks as a carrot in some of the other deals that were being presented to him at the time. I'm pretty sure that he is persona non grata in Hollywood now after accusing the William Morris agency of fraud and getting them sued. Eventually I expect the vault tracks, if Prince doesn't set fire to them first or re-record all the vocal tracks with verses from The Watchtower, to end up in the hands of some of his various creditors.

Prince never goes by what any of his fans actually want though...even though we know he listens in frequently. Other than us begging for him to re-claim his Purple sounds...which he has recently...and responding to us on "FUNK"; he pretty much has done what he wants. I is good to see that he is responding to fans though after 20 years. Love Prince for being Prince; fans..we just want more...and to see his legacy done corectly.

That's why we have foefur re-making his album collections cleaned up FOR HIM, bootlegs given away for free, celebrations for his legacy and tribute concerts. We care about the whole package and just want to see some respect for it.

There could also be a satellite radio channel playing Prince music 24/7. Out of the music that's yet to be heard, I'm sure some of those songs were put aside for his proteges to record.

I see it as collateral he uses to negotiate with record contracts. But IMHO, I take into account that the music recorded prior to 1990 was limited by album length, so you prob. do have a lot more gems in that timeframe. But once he had his 72-78 minutes to play with, doubt were as many leftovers.

I also think he should put out some sort of software where you can play with the multitrack tapes on your computer, and put the Vault (as well as alternate versions) out on Blu Ray.

If you're talking about releasing everything, they'd have to break it down to session dates and takes.

A lot of artists bristle at taking requests or being told what to do.

As far as his legacy goes, there should be a reissue project just because a lot of things have gone out of print, and no singles collection post WB.
