Don't u miss the time when...

... the word prince suddenly appeared in the middle of a written sentence, as in "Here comes the new prince album", or "In a recent interview, prince declared that...". I mean this was such a good joke, to have both magazines and fans writing prince instead of Prince, and no matter how much people made fun of Prince for it, fact is that most music magazines suddenly started to write articles about prince!

I just miss talking about prince, cuz his name was much cooler than just "Prince" lol

biggrin

I thought that the whole prince thing in printed press was annoying and quite stupid, and it was even worse when he was introduced by someone on tv and they had to hold up that dumb symbol made in gold card.

So no, I don't miss it at all.

Amen.

That entire period was cringeworthy, IMO.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I agree, but I do admit it did sometimes produce some hilarious results, for example, the whole "Tora Tora" thing was so cringeworthy it was brilliant.

And I think I just got used to him being called "The Artist," when the wee shite changed his mind again and went back to Prince.

No I don't miss it! It always amazed me how everybody just accepted that and used that symbol thing just because he said so.
And looking at old concert tickets and reading The Artist I find embarassing. Then I think Oh what t lol he hell, if you can have The Band, you can also have The Artist...
I'm glad those days are over!

Are you kidding? You enjoyed and MISS the second or first most compelling situation that brought forth the so-called downfall? or the change of everything?

Im not into bullying but you need to be taken to the back of Paisley Park and jumped.

Sheesh.

I basically ignored the whole Symbol era. The first time I saw "Face Down" they kept the little symbol in the corner and as a kid I was like, Who the hell is this?

Then at the end I was like, biggrin OH, That's PRINCE!

It was irrelevant to me.

I love a Man who:
Wears More Make Up Than Me.
Wears Four Inch Stilleto Boots.
Changes His Name To An Unpronouncable Symbol.
Who Changes His Name Back From An Unpronouncable Symbol.
Oh And Most Importantly, Who Is Sexy Little Drop Of Butterscotch

Yeah, I kinda dug the whole prince thing. It was different and kind of cool, even if it was strange.

What I miss more is the time when he rarely gave interviews and there was a buffer between his lunacy and his fan base (and the rest of the world).

I don't miss it, per se, but I enjoyed it when it was happening. It was another time that Prince was doing what he wanted when he wanted because he wanted even if it was as much for marketing and promotion as it was for personal expression. So, again, I don't miss it--as in I would like for him to do it again--, but it was one of my favorite times. And, I liked it more that it annoyed people because their annoyance meant that his “F-you attitude to the world” was working.

It was too similar to the ankh from Logan's Run, every time I saw it I would think about Sanctuary.

I still call him as Prince, even if he don't want.

I don't think we are ever gonna miss the "Symbol." The Symbol is as timeless as Prince's music is.

Maybe the symbol won't be typed or drawn anymore in association with Prince currently, yet if you see it now-a-days or in the future, the symbol is a sign that Good Music and Prince have been there.

It's an uphill climb to the finish line.
