Man'O'War

Now I as much of the next guy HATE Rave.

But I have to admit I constantly come back to this song.

I just connect it to it so much, being wrongfully accused of infidelity.

My favorite lyric is

"How could U have think that I could put something inside of someone
That I put inside U, inside U?
Even if I tried 2, if I tried 2 (Tried 2, tried 2)
I couldn't cuz I still smell like that last time when we...

I.. but lovin' U, lovin' U, lovin' U's a waste of time (Is a waste of time)
Oh, yes it is
But lovin' U is a waste of time, baby"

I hate that it sounds a bit cheesy, with the severely dated synth sounds.

But the song itself is pretty solid.

For some reason, this song keeps popping into my head recently, although I haven't listened to it in maybe 10 years. And I'm not kidding.

Hey loudmouth, shut the fuck up, right?

Wow, odd. I think Rave is a pretty good album (not great), and Man O War has always been my least favorite from the album.. I did play it yesterday, though, and thought it was pretty good. Maybe it's a grower..

I think it definitely is a grower.

Its hard to get passed the cheap sounding drums and synths though.

I don't know why the beginning is funny, "Why you screamin!"

I think because I can imagine him singing that out in an argument lol

Agreed, would have been much better if it was performed with a full band/traditional instruments!
RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...

This is my favorite song from Rave and I love unto and into...cool cool cool razz razz razz

"A united state of mind will never be divided
The real definition of unity is 1
People can slam their door, disagree and fight it
But how U gonna love the Father but not love the Son?
United States of Division"

I was obsessed with this song when Rave came out. It's probably the only song I truly loved from it. He played a nice live version of it at the first celebration concert and merged it into Adore which was really cool. The songs have some similarities.

the guitar solo makes it, especially juxtaposed with the fairly generic contemporary r&b backing track. one of the standouts on this album.

the remix ruins it.
