The beautiful ones V Crimson and clover Both songs give me butterflies. I definatly forget how powerful The beautiful ones is until I hear it and then I can only think that it has got to be in my top 5 favourite songs ever. I've been listening to Lotusflow3r lately and cannot get Crimson and Clover out of my head. I know it is a cover, but it sounds so Prince imo. It gets better with every subsequent listen.
Trying to work out which I prefer or if any of Prince's songs move me quite like them.

No contest for me, the beautiful ones is one of my favourite songs of all time, crimson and clover is just a cover. Yes prince does it justice but I hate covers in general. | |

two great songs but two very different songs. one piano driven and one guitar driven it's like me asking Solo v Alexa De Paris
I love Crimson and Clover but The Beautiful Ones is pretty close to perfection. Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

I know how you might feel, because his cover of 'Crimson & Clover' is fantastic, he made it his own.
HOWEVER............
The Beautiful Ones is just incredible, and he delivers perfectly! The piano, drums, and vocals are all according to the same attitude and style! It gives me chills, when I close my eyes and listen to it all!
